●What is the Kankara Sanshin?

 

Kankara Sanshin was born at the POW camp after World War II in Okinawa JAPAN.

 

During the war Okinawan people lost everything but they didn’t forget to sing and play musics to cheer up each other.

They made Sanshin with empty can, scrap wood and strings of parachute or Telephone line, And named it Kankara Sanshin.

 

Kankara means cans in okinawan language.
Kankara Sanshin is the instrument that gave Okinawan people power to alive and Kankara Sanshin is the instrument of peace.
